A wonderful evening and a super hit project – with all 200+ attendee’s coming out of the auditorium happy and with a “guru-killi” of how to stay happy forever – what more can one wish for.

The proceedings kicked off with President Ashok welcoming all, the singing of the National Anthem and lighting of the traditional lamp.

The first item on the agenda was the felicitation of DGN Lata Subraidu (who was also the chief guest for the evening) by PDG Bharat Pandya, President Ashok and other directors of the club. PP Chetan Desai introduced her to the gathering and she gave a short but fitting response.

The Ambika Yog Kutir, with whom President Ashok is intimately connected since many year, has been helping the cancer patients and survivors to reduce their sufferings through the practice of yoga. The music clinic was specially programmed by Dr Rahul Joshi to add another dimension to their recovery efforts. Dr.Rahul was in a distinct mood, making the event lively and empowering the cancer patients /survivors through his passion for music. The chock-o-block auditorium was awestruck and spellbound with the web of music and the co-relation of the seven notes sa-re-ga-ma-pa-dha-ni to the 7 chakras. The whole auditorium was singing with Dr Rahul and it was a sight worth a million dollars – a chorus of 200+ people.

After the interval the Vocational Excellence Awards were presented.

Sri Harichandra Mancharkar – 80 years young ex-teacher and social worker.

Ramesh Bhorse – visually challenged physiotherapist.

Rijuta Kushalkar – cancer survivor and councellor to cancer patients.

Dr Chandrakant Lalan – Doctor and volunteer for enucleation of eyes for our eye bank.

Janardhan Potdar - social worker and rickshaw driver.

The awardees were ably introduced by Rtns Avinash Gujarati and Mona Gyani.

The music clinic resumed and Dr Rahul continued to weave the web of magic of music and all wished that it should not end but reluctantly at 11.30 pm a great evening came to an end.

Congratulations to project chairperson, PP Chetan Desai & PP Vijay Palkar, Service Project Director-Medical, Rtn Mona Gyani, Vocational directors, Rtn Ashish Tapiawala and Rtn Lalit Jadav for a well conceived and excellently executed project.
